Blocked drain/s
Reported by Ralph Rogerson ( Retired Engineer ) at 16:24, Sun 17 March 2019
Sent to Cumbria County Council and South Lakeland District Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 1574923.
Surface water drain is completely blocked ( I think the adjacent one is likewise) with the result that during heavy rain a torrent of surface water flows down Long Meadow lane into Oxenholme Lane and down into the village below.

I would describe it as " half fixed " It depends what happens when we next get heavy rain.

The adjacent grid (referred to in my original report) has not been touched. Adjacent meaning next one along, on the same side of the road.

Workmen arrived and cleared the adjacent grid BUT I SUSPECT DEBRIS FROM THE GRID HAS PARTIALLY BLOCKED THE DRAIN LEADING FROM THE GRID. I say this because I inspected the grid during a rain storm and water in the gutter was simply flowing right over the grid and along to the next one which I again suspect is suffering from the same problem.
