Flood hazard caused by tree roots

Tree location outside 128 Palace. 1.Tree roots have broken through the tarmac and raised the road level causing extensive flooding after rainfall due to rainwater being unable to flow into the drain outside 126 Palace View. 2. Parents/Children use this pavement when going to/from the local Primary school.

  • This tree has been inspected and is not considered to require remedial works at this time. The situation will be reviewed cyclically and any required action will be addressed within a future works programme.

  • Thanks for the council’s generic tree response however the issue is flooding (see photographs). When are Bromley Council going to fix this flooding problem?

  • We are working with highways to try to elevate the flooding. There will be some root pruning carried out.

  • In answer to the FMS survey the council contractors promised have not attended and the issues are still outstanding meanwhile the root and flooding problems have worsened.

  • In answer to the FMS survey the council contractor has highlighted the root damage to the road with white paint but as yet no actual work has commenced.
