Dangerous and partially hidden ironworks

Reported in the Parks and Greenspace category anonymously at 20:05, Sunday 24 February 2019

Sent to Bromley Council less than a minute later

PREVIOUSLY REPORTED 2 YEARS AGO. Identifiedd for removal by contractors but still nothing done.

Previous report... In the ditch between the field and the lane running down from Rookery lane, there is a large amount of dangerous iron from railings which have fallen. These have very sharp edges and if a child or dog could easily become impaled and suffer serious injury. A friend's dog was killed when he ran into old iron railings in undergrowth in Bethlem Hospital and everytime I see these railings along this ditch I am concerned that a similar accident is inevitable here.

  • Thank you for your report. 70m of redundant railings were removed from Fp131 in March 2017. The railing that concern you have been identified and are approximately 100m from the original clearance. Works pending to have these railings removed.

  • These railings extend from bottom of lane where Bromley college is all the way down to the horse field. Many of these jagged railing protrude only a few inches from the ground and some are in the ditch. I sense that perhaps one or 2 are being dealt with however this needs a thorough sweep of area to ensure all are removed and area is made safe from old ironworks.
