Pothole at least 18 inches diameter and 6cm deep on west going carriageway

Sent to Hampshire County Council 3 minutes later
This hole is impossible to avoid in a car where oncoming traffic exists. My very expensive new car made a sickening thud just now when it fell into this waterfilled hole in the darkness. Any damage will be sure to result in a claim.
Hit this same deep pothole on Friday afternoon 15 Feb. c. 4pm travelling at c.28mph with Feb sun low in the sky directly ahead so presence and depth of hole was not visible. Pothole is c. 150m south of Hampshire Arms on SW carriageway opposite Chilloway Terrace cottages next to footpath sign. It is, in any event, unavoidable when oncoming traffic keeps you 'in lane' through village. Was visiting family for weekend so only just got home to report it. This was the worst pothole impact I have experienced in 45 years of driving. I honestly thought my BMW shock absorber had come through the car interior. Google maps, as well as visual inspection at the time, reveals this pothole has been repaired badly many times. Local council surely stands responsible for any damage caused.

The problem has been attended to. Whether or not the fix will last more than a few months only time will tell.
