People are using our dropped kerb to get on the pavement and then "drive along the pavement to park.

Reported anonymously at 14:49, Mon 18 February 2019

Sent to East Hertfordshire District Council and Hertfordshire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 1547846.

We live nex to the village hall and near the school. The school has had yellow no parking signs put on the road, as a child was involved in an accident. Subsequently now, they drive past my parked car and use this as a way of getting onto the pavement and drive along the pavement. There is also a dance academy, and on a Saturday, because people are at home, and there is less parking , again they use the pavement. There has been now about 3 times when we have been hit. There are also 2 drains there, 1 a fire hydrant, which are also affected.

Updates

  • It is not clear if the vehicles are just using the footway to drive through or to park and then remain. If the vehicles are mounting the footway and driving through then this is a moving traffic offence dealt with by the Police. If you are experiencing issues with parked cars then you would normally approach your elected County Councillor to see if something can be done with restrictions or changes to the road (bollards etc).
