Dangerous Zebra crossing

A new zebra crossing was put at the end of Spring Road as it joins Faringdon Road some time ago. As a local resident and a dog owner, I use that crossing on a daily basis, as does my 17 year old son when he uses the gym at Abingdon School. On many occasions because of the position of it, so close to a junction and on a blind corner, I have nearly been hit by a car and last night my son came very close to being run over. It is a very dangerous place for a crossing and car drivers do not stop consistently. In my informed opinion, it is only a matter of time before someone is injured or worse. The problem is particularly prevalent at night. I understand it was installed to help the school children morning and afternoon to cross safely, and motorists seem to be more aware during school times, however at other times of the day and night this is not the case.
