Multiple deep potholes in southern half of this road.

Reported in the Pothole category anonymously at 13:23, Wednesday 13 February 2019 using FixMyStreet Pro

Received by Buckinghamshire County Council moments later

This road has, I suspect, never been propelry engineered. It was originally a dirt road cart track which was skimmed with asphalt in the 1920s national programme. In the 40+ years I have lived here it has been resurfaced once (spray tar, rollon gravel, come back a week later and sweep up the loose gravel). The potholes recur in the same places time after time. Time overdue for proper work on this road. Current potholes are now dangerous, especially to cyclists.

  • The BCC survey van was in the location today 6th March and the surveyor has ringed the now deep and dangerous potholes. They will, presumably, be filled in "as usual" but will certainly open up again within weeks. The southern half of Abbey Park Lane needs to be properly engineered and rebuilt to prevent endles ineffective patching which just wastes money.
