Unstable Retaining Walls (1-9 Cobden Rise)

Reported anonymously at 07:54, Tuesday 5 February 2019

Sent to Southampton City Council 1 minute later

These properties have weak boundary walls (which have recently had fence fallen and replaced), which lean outwards and on to streetlighting. The council should write to the property owners as the highway authority and inform them that they need to undertake repairs to prevent the wall falling onto the public highway.

It would be prudent in the meantime to close the footway and divert all pedestrian traffic onto the opposite footway, possibly installing Legato or other concrete block system in front of wall to prevent catastrophic collapse.
