Access off my street using the dropped kerb installed in the wrong place by the council.

Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category by Peter Risdon at 13:27, Sunday 3 February 2019

Sent to North Yorkshire County Council 3 minutes later

I had a dropped kerb placed at the end of my street on the instruction of one of the council officers, they did not explain to all the residence that it was a dropped kerb which was slightly round the corner to allow me access off the street in my wheelchair. They say they cannot put any no parking lines around a corner only on as straight dropped kerb so people are now ignoring the dropped kerb and leaving their cars in a dangerous place stopping from leaving the street in my wheelchair. Please can they extend the dropped kerb and put some no parking lines on the road, please, please, please?

  • The people on our street and other streets around me continue to park across dropped kerbs and it does make it really difficult to leave the street and go anywhere.
