Litter on A34

Reported in the Street cleaning category by Martin Rendle at 14:54, Monday 21 January 2019

Sent to Highways England 1 minute later

I drove along the A34 on Sunday 20th January 2019 from Winchester to the M4. While there is litter along much of the route, the stretch from Worthy Down to the A303 junction is particularly bad, in places it is like driving through a rubbish tip. When do you do road cleaning and how often?

  • Fixmystreet reported the the problem to Highways England, but Highways England replied to me saying that it was a problem for the local authority. As I am not local to that area and I assume that the A34 passes through more than one local authority area, I do not know who else to report the issue to. It may have been cleaned since, but I as I havent used the A34 since the report, I cannot tell. Neither do I know if fixmystreet reported to Highways England incorrectly or if Highways England are just trying to get out of a bit of cleansing duty.
