Obstruction of driveway due to parked vehicles. Safety compromised for pedestrians crossing.

Reported in the Roads/highways category by Andrew Harrison at 20:37, Sunday 20 January 2019

Sent to Bolton Borough Council 3 minutes later

Blocked driveways due to parked cars and danger of emergence from driveways on Hill Lane (No 1 & No 6). Parked vehicles can be there all day and night as some belong to staff working at the nearby care home on shift work. Hill Lane is a through trunk road (not an estate) and therefore takes heavy traffic at peak times. HGVs and is a bus route. Although the speed limit is now 20 Mph, vehicles emerging from round the corner are often travelling and high speeds, which causes danger to emerging vehicles and crossing pedestrians. I suggest a Pelican crossing with lights, as I feel traffic approaching a Zebra crossing would not be as safe for elderly residents crossing. As can be seen from the photographs attempting to cross the road at this popular spot is compromised by parked vehicles etc.
