Cars blocking access to Mitchell Close due to picking up college attendees

Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 22:01, Tue 15 January 2019

Sent to Aylesbury Vale District Council 3 minutes later

Cars are constantly causing obstruction to Mitchell Close on a daily basis - at least twice daily in school/college pick up/drop off times - it is only getting worse for us residents to gain access to our homes without drivers double parking and causing dangerous driving conditions - blocking up access on to the slip road - causing drivers trying to exit the slip road to have to straddle the middle of both lanes as someone has parked up!

This has been occurring since we have lived here since July 2017.

There needs to be double yellow lines in place outside the college and on Mitchell Close as not only is college attendees and relatives, but also cab drivers parking up until their next fair.

Surely there should be something in place as a deterrent as you can see from the photos the small pathway has been blocked so any pedestrian trying to gain access to Mitchell Close cannot use it.

As a mum, why should I not be able to use a public footpath safely to ensure that myself and my child do not get hit when going about our daily life?

This has been highlighted by residents in the past and yet nothing has been done.

Will it take for an accident between cars or a student or a resident being hit for any action to be taken?

  • The college has advised students and their parents not to use this road as a drop off and pick up location, but no improvement has been made.
