These roadworks that have been put at Main Road to Lower Quinton that have shut the road for 35 days has caused untold problems. The entrance that is mainly being used at Taylor’s Lane, Upper Quinton and Back Lane are not designed for the amount of traffic now using it and this week alone a dog has been killed and last night a bad accident occurred. What is going to happen in the rest of the month that Main Road is closed for? There are signs up that the roads are unsuitable for HGV’s and yet there are plenty using the road especially with the entrance to the new housing estate being directly opposite the other entrance to Goose Lane. Why couldn’t the company building the houses have been told to open an entrance from Main Road? Has anyone thought what would happen if the air ambulance needed to land in Goose Lane, like it does for a medical emergency at Meon Medical Centre? As usual, no thought has been put into the people who live and pay their taxes as long as these companies earn their millions, cause havoc and get what they want! If God forbid there is a serious accident, which would not be a surprise, I hope the agencies involved get the hell sued out of them as many feel that’s the only way we will be taken seriously and the fact we have to think and feel like that is utterly deplorable.
