Skipton Road

Reported via iOS in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 10:15, Saturday 12 January 2019

Sent to North Yorkshire County Council less than a minute later

This report concerns the state of the A59 (Skipton Road ) between New Park roundabout and Saltergate Junior School in Harrogate. The Skipton bound stretch of this road is breaking up in several places. The surface can be seen to move when traffic is crossing it and appears to be loosening badly. In one particular place, between lamppost 104,105 and 106 several pieces of the road surface have been thrown out by the traffic. One piece the size of a cricket ball and two pieces the size of ping pong balls. A pedestrian hit by something of this size would be seriously injured. If this section of road is not repaired quickly there is a chance that a serious accident could occur.

Updates

  • The road condition remains the same as at the time of my report, even the three pieces of the road surface are still by the roadside.
