Sent to North East Lincolnshire Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 150389.
This street light has had the on/off syndrome for 2 months now.

Hard not to be abusive when one is continually ignored isn't it ?

On the 2nd of January 2011, I sent a request for the street light in Pine Close to be repaired. This is still not 100% operational. The preventive maintenance is abysmal and does not appear to exist.
This is intermittently not working and is a safety problem regarding night time access when walking.
There is a pregnant lady visits our house during the hours of darkness, with a danger of tripping, slipping or falling. What happens if she is injured with a subsequent miscarriage?
To add to this we are both pensioners and not too steady on our feet. With the absents of a street light, this causes a major problem regarding safety at night in the close while walking.
This problem has NOT been fixed !

This light has still not been repaired and has now been off continuously for 5 days.
Prior to this it was working on a pro rata basis of 4 random nights on per week.
Despite the fact this has been reported firstly on the 2-Jan and a heavily pregnant female visits during the hours of darkness, the council just have no reasonable duty of care towards this lady concerning her pregnant state, and fear of slips, trips or falls.
This is the 3rd time a letter has been sent, and will all compile into a legal file, if there are any consequences to answer, regarding injury or loss of life as the root cause.
As you can see by the attached picture it is very dark and an accident waiting to happen.Posted anonymously at 10:37, Mon 31 January 2011
