Dangerous blind exit from car park

Reported in the Roads/highways category by Bob North at 09:49, Thursday 3 January 2019

Sent to Derby City Council 1 minute later

Aldi's car park has two exits , the one furthest from their main entrance door is dangerous .Any driving leaving cannot see approaching traffic from the right . A kink in the access road at this point adds to the danger .Exiting here even if taking considerable care risks a collision ... cars fronts have to be around 5 ft into the carriageway before the view to the right can be seen. It has been reported to Aldi but it seems they are doing nothing to improve safety .Closing one parking bay on the noryh corner of this exit would afford a clear safe site line for exiting vehicles

  • Aldi and the landowners have been advised this exit is dangerous .Seems customer safety is not a priority , the danger remains.

The solution is easy and low cost , close off the two parking bays that butt right up to this very busy two way access road in to and exiting the Meteor Centrw

  • The blind exit remains . Aldi are being reckless failing to take the simple measure required to eliminate the danger ie close off the two parking bays next to the access road

    Profit before safety ?
