Obstruction to Gala Fields carpark

Concrete blocks have been placed at the entrance to the Gala Fields carpark, preventing access to motor vehicles. This also causes difficulties for cycles travelling to/from Nuneaton via Wembrook Trail/NCN521 where the gaps between blocks are too narrow even for 'standard' cycles. A gap of a minimum 1.5m should remain to allow access by all cycles, regardless of type. Please either remove these blocks or reposition to provide the recommended gap as per accessibility guidelines.

  • This Car park and fields are the responsibility of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council. I believe that they have put the concrete blocks at this location. This enquiry has been forwarded onto them.

  • Nuneaton and Bedworth Council have repositioned the blocks in a chicane layout which permits the passage of any cycle.
