Works in the foot way were completed before Christmas but the temp traffic lights are still in place. Why did the gang simply not move them onto the verge and switch them off, instead of causing nearly a week of unnecessary congestion ?

Temporary traffic lights left in position but protecting themselves only. Works in footway and highway complete and reinstated.
