Two drain gullys outside April Cottage 50 mm below level of newly repaired road

Reported in the Potholes category anonymously at 12:43, Fri 28 December 2018

Sent to Dorset County Council 2 minutes later

The south side carriageway of Southbrook outside April Cottage was repaired in July 2018. The road level is now approximately 50 higher around the two drain gullys outside the house. The road is heavily used by HGV`s.When they drive past the nearside wheels drop into these recesses which causes the ground and April Cottage to shake badly. Due to this there are cracks now appearing in the walls of this 400 year old building. Also most of these trucks seem to be traveling much faster than the thirty mile per hour speed limit

  • Dorset County Council have measured the depth to be 30mm. The minimum depth that they will repair is 40mm. So the problem of the ground, and our 400 year old house shaking every time HGVs drive past and drop there wheels into these holes has not gone away.
