Water pouring out of manhole in middle of road when raining.

Sent to Essex County Council 3 minutes later

Any amount of rain (and not necessarily heaven!) and the road is flooded with water pouring out of the manhole in the middle of the road (right at the top of orchard crescent where it meets station road) and it’s like a river running out of in into the nearest drain and you risk getting soaked by any car that drives past when the water floods the road edges and fills all the little potholes. Was the same last year which was great when it froze and the road and surrounding pavement was a solid sheet of ice you couldnt avoid which I fell on and landed badly but luckily didn’t break my wrist or ankle! I reported it to the parish council who said it was something they knew about and was a longstanding problem that had been reported previously yet a year later it’s the same and not a thing has been done. Severely dangerous for any pedestrians! Please can someone look at this. I’ve no idea who is responsible for it if it’s parish, local or county council or water board or anyone else but it really does need to be sorted out before someone has a serious accident. If it freezes there’s no way to about it and someone will have a serious injury falling over. Thank you

  • Still exactly the same - as it’s been for over a year! Now with the icy weather I expect a sheet of ice across the road and pavement and a few slips and tumbled from village residents.
