Road surface poor following botched patch repairs

Reported via iOS in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 22:38, Tue 18 December 2018

Sent to Norfolk County Council 1 minute later

During summer the tar and chip surface came away where lorry tracks formed. This was then patched over 2 visits just filling in the strips. Quality of work was poor, road is bumpy and hazard. Requires planning and resurfacing to correct highway standards given the high level of traffic on a140

  • No update or works have been completed since report over 6wks ago. Quality of workmanship of this work needs to be reviewed and contractor instructed to redo works to an acceptable standard. Another example of council tax money wasted by botched repairs and no reinspection of completed works before authoring payment.

  • This stretch of the highway is so bumpy that I routinely avoid the surface by driving either as close to the nearside verge as possible, or as close to the centre of the road as it's safe to do whilst avoiding oncoming traffic. I've seen many other drivers do this too.
