Drain cover moving - VERY loud noise as each car drives over it.
Reported in the Gully/Drainage category by Ian Smith at 16:36, Wed 12 December 2018 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Bristol City Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1485697.
A very noisy drain cover has subsided on the Gloucester Road outside Tax Assist Accountants (288 Gloucester Road). This was repaired in the summer, but obviously just a temporary repair as it has subsided again and every vehicle driving over it day and night produces a bang bang sound. Residents nearby are not able to sleep.

The noise is getting worse day after day. Even with the windows closed we still can hear the terrible noise when a car runs through the manwhole cover. It was fixed a few months ago, but apparently it was only temporary. We really need to be fixed properly.

The man hole cover is directly behind this van. The issue has been fixed before which we are most grateful for, however, it appears to have come loose again. As such, everything I’ve a car drives over it bangs up and down and the sound reverberates through our drive away as we are above it.

Very noisy manhole cover. We can’t even leave the windows open because of the noise. It is a very busy road and there are buses and cars driving over it day and night. We can’t even sleep. It was fixed last summer and a month after that the noise was starting againg. We really need this to be fixed properly.

...and what does "Customer follow up" mean exactly???? It appears to me woefully inadequate as nothing appears to be happening, yet every few seconds we are subjected to a noise that is impossible to ignore and stress levels are rising.

We've referred the issue externally for appropriate action to be taken, as it's not something Bristol City Council is responsible for.
