Excess rubbish in street

Reported in the Street cleaning category anonymously at 18:36, Tue 11 December 2018

Sent to Barking and Dagenham Borough Council 3 minutes later

Lots of plastic bottles of fizzy drinks plus lots of alcohol bottles and broken glass in street .. I’ve picked up some but there’s too much, we need a manual person with a trolley to pick up rubbish NOT a vehicle as it can’t get into the gutters it’s useless as it just goes down middle of the road missing everything

Updates

  • The litter has in fact got worse no one has cleared the street since November last year broken glass bottles, burger boxes, chicken pieces and bones everywhere, crushed aluminium drink cans everywhere, what an eyesore and totally unacceptable

  • The once a month cleanse of my street as deemed appropriate by someone in the street cleaning department who has possibly never walked down this street at school hometime is not enough due to high footfall of schoolchildren who swarm down this street twice a day every term day and drop their takeaways boxes and fizzy drinks cans/bottles in this street

  • Litter situation is still bad, especially concentrated at the junction of Felhurst Crescent and Rainham Road South (mainly because residents have picked up litter further down). It's particularly annoying as every morning a manual road sweeper passes the end of the street picking up the litter in Rainham Road South and ignores loads of litter just inches away from his route.
