The road surface of most of Leamington Terrace is so pitted and patched it is unsafe for cycling. This ragged surface means cyclists traveling at any speed downhill 1. Can't grip the handlebars firmly 2. Can't apply the brakes 3. Can't sit down 4. Can't indicate 5. Can't maintain a straight course To grip the bars or apply brakes risks wrist injury. To sit on the saddle risks back injury. Inability to indicate or maintain a straight course risks collision with other vehicles. This street is the most direct route from Bruntsfield to Haymarket, yet it makes the journey miserable. A full resurfacing of the quality of Whitehouse Loan would be appreciated.
