Large fly tip blocking access to flats, poor response from Council

Reported in the Flytipping category anonymously at 08:06, Sun 2 December 2018

Sent to Ealing Borough Council 6 minutes later

It's in the alleyway opposite Nando's, Bond Street. Old furniture and other waste have been disposed here, next to the communal bins. It can get in the way of residents as well as public pedestrians. Local residents have had to move rubbish themselves (including shattered glass and old fluorescent tubes) to access their homes.

I moved in to Ealing a month ago, and reported this to the council immediately on November 12th. On November 13th (literally the day after), the report was marked as "completed" but as of today (December 2nd) the waste has not been cleared. It's quite frustrating as the report has been acknowledged, but it appears that it was just dismissed.

I reported it again on the 28th of November, as the waste has increased. Again, on the day after, I received a notification from Ealing Council that the report has been "completed" and has been closed - with no further information given nor action taken.

We were quite disappointed with this response as the problem now poses a health and safety risk - not to mention it looks terribly out of place within Ealing Broadway. Unfortunately, to our knowledge, there are no measures currently in place to prevent this. CCTV would be a good deterrent, but getting rid of it would be a good start!

  • It's been cleared completely, not a single piece of rubbish to be seen. Thank you! The area looks so much better.
