Electronic sign not working

Reported in the Road traffic signs category anonymously at 03:30, Thu 29 November 2018

Sent to Tameside Borough Council 5 minutes later

This sign which is supposed to say whether the two pennine passes are open or not is not working. The two lines on the display that give information are just completely lit at all times as can he seen in the photo. It has been like this for several months, but with winter well and truly approaching, these signs will need to be fixed quickly so that drivers can see if these roads are closed or not.

  • The council said it wasn't their responsibility and to contact The Highways Agency. The Highways Agency said it wasn't their responsibility and to contact the council... :/

    Still open, via questionnaire

  • No further update on this - no-one wants to claim responsibility, but the sign is completely useless in its current state. Someone's clearly paying the electricity bill for it to remain lit, though...
