Very Bright Lighting
Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 00:20, Wed 8 December 2010
Sent to Blackpool Borough Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 146874.
Arnold junior school playground has 2 brilliant white lights on poles about 5 metres tall. One is facing west and is blinding to drivers entering Arnold Avenue from Lytham Road. The worst effect is just as you get to the crossing point for pupils at the school main entrance. The other light is facing north and blinds drivers heading south on First Avenue, getting worst just as you get to the junction with Arnold Avenue. These lights should be positioned at the Arnold Avenue side of the playground and facing south. The lights are used for illuminating the playground for car parking when there is a function on. This means there are lots of vehicles around, some badly parked. There are also parents and pupils around. Action is required soonest.

Nothing has been done, I expect it will take an accident before any action is taken. The council technical dept and road safety dept were also informed and the two ward councillors for info.
