Footpath on South side of bridge being used as a cycle path

Reported in the Pavements/footpaths category anonymously at 12:28, Thu 22 November 2018

Sent to North Yorkshire County Council 2 minutes later

This is causing a problem/danger for pedestrians. Especially those who use the steps up to the footpath and have to try and avoid cyclists who are hidden by the "wall" at the side of the footpath. The main bit of confusion is a blue sign which directs pedestrians and cyclists to cross the road at the crossing to access the cycle route. The sign should be for pedestrians only. Reference to online HBC cycle routes clearly show that cyclists have no access and should continue to Hornbeam Park Avenue to access the cycle route.
