Flooding

Sent to Mid Sussex District Council and West Sussex County Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 146724.
The stream that flows southward from Herontye Drive remains choked with branches left behind by tree surgeons, and continues to flood in moderate to heavy rainfall. We have been reporting this for over a year now, and no action has been taken.

Officialdom is sympathetic, but seems either powerless to enforce legislation or simply lacks the manpower necessary to chase up the landowner.

We had a visit from a county councillor, and I spoke to an official of the highways department, who intimated that a notice to clear the site was to be issued to the riparian owner - if he failed to comply, the council would carry out the work and bill him. We shall see...

I think Mid-Sussex environment department are on the case, but suspect that the riparian landowner is not proving cooperative.
