Dangerous tree - large branches overhanging public footpath suffering from stress fractures

Reported in the Trees category by Brian Dean at 10:39, Mon 5 November 2018

Sent to Aylesbury Vale District Council 1 minute later

I recently had work undertaken by a tree specialist (who is a qualified arboriculturalist ) and whilst carrying out the work, he commented that an Ash tree nearby which is the subject of a Tree Preservation Order, is suffering from stress fractures. This is apparently due to too much weight being on the end of the branches and therefore urgent thinning is required as one of the branches affected overhangs the footpath linking Langley Close and Western Lane, Winslow. This is therefore posing a danger to pedestrians who frequently use this footpath (the tree in question is the one which is closest to our property, 19 Langley Close) I have already reported the problem to AVDC and have been told by Jim MacNewman of AVDC this is a Highway Authority matter and to report via Fix My Street
