Thames Water manhole cover on Malden Road (SM3) just before the turning into Popinjays Row (SM3 8DW)
Reported anonymously at 17:07, Sun 4 November 2018
Sent to Sutton Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1453158.
This Thames Water manhole cover on Malden Road (SM3) just before the turning into Popinjays Row (SM3 8DW) has been very loose for many weeks now, everytime a vehicle drives over it it makes a loud noise. The repetitive noise is very very annoying for the local residents. Thank you.

We have received the following update from the Council:
Dear Cllr Elliot Colburn,
Thank you for the enquiry. The manhole cover in question has a faulty lid which sits inside the frame in the carriageway at the junction of Netley Close- Thames Water have been notified a few weeks ago through a section 81 notifying them that it requires replacing. Will chase Thames Water and bring this matter to a close.
Kind regards
Charlie

I understand the issue is still persisting so I have raised this again with the Council and received this reply.
Dear Cllr Elliot Colburn,
Regarding this Thames Water manhole cover this was sent to Thames water originally through the section 81 notification then following on from this I reported the faulty cover junction of Netley Close to their priority line reference number 07736338669 I am going to have to call them again with an update. Will also contact the residents who have called in to report this to the council to and ask them to also report this to Thames Water- Thames Water may react faster to the replacement cover if it was deemed to come from there customers- will chase the utility company.
Kind regards

Still not fixed, although I reported it 4 weeks ago the problem had existed for weeks. The repetitive noise is effecting people's sleep.

Thank you for the update Penny. As well as dealing with the Council I have also contacted Thames Water directly in the hope that a bit of extra pressure might help! I will keep you posted.
