Dips in the road

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 08:55, Wed 31 October 2018

Sent to Liverpool City Council 5 minutes later

Due to extremely heavy traffic at the bottom of Childwall valley road my house constantly shakes, The heavy lorries and buses bounce along three dips in the road that causes shaking and vibrations throughout my house. Usually starting at 6am. On a 30 mile an hour road traffic is usually at 40 to 50 and I have seen a lot of speeding cars. Apparently the road is being re laid next year but at the moment I have to put up with the constant shaking I am concerned this is causing damage to my house The dips in the road should be seen to straight away

Updates

  • We have the same issue. The house regularly shakes when vehicles travel across certain parts of the road.

This is unavoidable with certain vehicles like heavy busses and speeding emergency services. But it is made worse by speeding cars.

It is extremely unusual that the structural faults in the road were not noticed before our houses got built.

We as residents now have to live in houses that shake.
