Over night parking
Reported in the Car parking category anonymously at 22:45, Tue 23 November 2010
Sent to South Northamptonshire District Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 144487.
I first reported the issue of lorries parking over night on the slip road some 3 years ago both to my MP and the Council , while I appreciate that 3 signs have been placed on the lamposts between the roundabout and the entry to the old landfill site there are no signs between the old landfill site and the dual carriageway Could either more signs be placed on the lamp posts or the existing signs more evenly placed on this section of road . Tonight there where 5 lorries park on the slip road entry to the A45 , the lorries parked on the chevrons with no lights on vehicles showing , this section of road has a 60mph speed limit leading onto a 70mph section of road and the lorries are parking right upto the start of the dual carriageway . I have conacted the Police in the past but they don't seem concerned that lorries are parking on a slip road in a 60mph zone overnight with no light on the vehicles

Lorries still parking here consistently - at least two are parked this evening (14th May 2017). It is nearly seven years after the initial poster has highlighted this problem via this website and nearly ten years after they had raised the issue initially with their MP and the respective councils. Two pedestrians were also seen trying to navigate this slip road this evening and had to dodge between the oncoming traffic and the parked lorries. As the new logistics warehouses are now open in this area, more and more pedestrians are using this route as a means of getting to work. In addition, the council has deliberately turned off the street lighting in this area creating a further hazard. These parked lorries could lead to a serious incident and possible injury and/or fatality to pedestrians and other road users. Dear NCC/NBC/South Northants councils - please could something be done! Thank you to the original poster for your vigilance and efforts in trying to make this area safe.
