Sinking is spreading
Reported in the Roads/highways category by NEIL FAGAN at 10:19, Fri 19 October 2018
Sent to Hampshire County Council 1 minute later. FixMyStreet ref: 1441483.
Whilst the infill repair eased the step in the road height, the road has continued to sink and now another step is forming 5-7 metres North-East of the infill, as the road and sub-bed sinks further.

Much worse now, looks like the road is subsiding again.

Some more white paint, looks like yet another surface fill and hope job is planned, not dealing with the underlying subsidence that's causing the problem.

Yup, yet another top fill over and hope job, bodged as usual.

Still sinking, over weight trucks, horse boxes in particular, using it most days don't help, nor do the heavy coaches and double decker school/college buses.

Looks like another broken main due to the sinking road/side slip is being repaired, but will they be dealing with the underlying problem?

Some new white paint has been added, though somehow I doubt any action will happen any time soon, the last lot wore off without any action...

No change except more paint and sinkage.

Gas company had to dig out and repair a broken main, caused by the side slip and sinkage, caused by a failed water main? Either way the road is still sinking.

At first this was a minor defect, then it got bad enough to submit a report, now it's a ditch and speed hump combination that's so bad some driver have to drive in the middle of the road to avoid losing their teeth as they cross it, even at 15 mph, I wonder if the Scamera partnerships camera ever gets triggered these days?

Well the recent 'patch' for the cycle lane is already sinking, time the county council stopped messing around and piled the sides of the old diversion line bridge/embankment to stop the road sinking as the infill is forced out by the weight of traffic, especially now the tree's have been attended to which will lead to further waterlogging and likelihood of failure as the angle of repose is too steep to remain stable.
