Further narrowing of cycle track, vegetation and mud/leaves covering - getting more dangerous

Reported in the Pavements category anonymously at 00:38, Fri 19 October 2018

Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 1 minute later. Council ref: 1441278.

Referring to report/ 1192022 which was closed with absolutely no action at all. This area of the A40 southern side cycle path has *further* narrowed over the summer due to vegetation encroachment onto (and along cracks in) the path. Further to this, mud and leaf mulch is now making the path treacherous at a point where cyclists need to swerve around the bollard/end of the crash barrier.

This needs sorting out, especially with the change in clocks rapidly approaching meaning many will be commuting over this point in the dark.

  • Despite being "high priority" nothing has changed here in the last 3 mnths. To give an idea of the deterioration, ad the "gap" cyclists have to aim for, see the attached camera capture.

A slight wheel wrong here (wet surface, mud, grass, etc!) and a cyclist is either into the barrier, or down the embankment to the south of the path.

  • At what point do we classify this route as truly off-road/singletrack?
