Severely broken tarmac pavement at the end of my (shared drive) and for approx 30 metres either side of my drive that is a dangerous trip hazard and water stop tap cover plates are being dislodged.

Sent to Newport Council 1 minute later

The council have not taken ownership of the pavements due to a dispute with the builder over 20 years ago but the contractor responsible for maintaining the pavements is not maintaining it.

Updates

  • Apparently the council are not responsible for the maintenance of the roads and pavements on my estate, what is more than a bit disappointing is that I bought my house as a new build 21 years ago and the council have not made this clear before hand, as a council tax payer I am beginning to wonder where my money is being used if it does not go towards the maintenance of roads and pavements where I live.
