Water running down New Chapel Lane runs off to Claypool Farm and neighbours, degrading shared drive, undermining walls, creating damp in houses.

Current re-surfacing works on New Chapel Lane by Bethell are serving to exacerbate the run-off problem we are experiencing, by giving rain water on the road an even easier, and faster path to run off onto private land. The run off from the road is causing problems for the shared driveway, washing the surface away down the hill to Claypool Cottages. Once at Claypool Cottages, the run-off reaches torrent proportions and is causing all manner of trouble for the owners there, not least damp in the lower house.

The problem with this run-off has been getting worse over time, and now poses material problems for the 3 dwellings around Claypool Farm because the water on the road is not being drained away by road drains. Instead the the camber of New Chapel Lane guides the water into private property.

I will upload photos when it next rains, in the meantime rest assured that storm Callum was a recent problem for us all.
