Collapsed stile
Reported anonymously at 16:26, Mon 15 October 2018
Sent to Leicestershire County Council and North West Leicestershire District Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1438134.
The first stile on the leaf hand side up Boothorpe Lane has completely collapsed. My husband was on the stile when it completely collapsed and he has hurt the top of his leg being half way across when this happened. This is the 3rd stile leading into this field that has broken and I have reported this year. These are now becoming an obvious danger and the council should be inspecting these in the area as my husband has hurt himself and this could have been much worse.

I have had a phone call from the council about this but no date can be given fir the repair. A stile nearby was reported initially back in June and still hadn’t been repaired. The council have won im fed up with trying to get those fixed. Funny they have loads of money to put on festivals in the adjacent fields to try snd encourage people to be healthy and walk in the countryside but apathy when those trying to walk every day ask for 2 stiles to be mended they can’t be bothered.

2 stiles in Blackfordby which the council have acknowledged need repair after collapsing (one with my husband half way across it) since June have still not been repaired. A gentleman from the council rang me to say that all the stiles in the area would need looking at if one was so dangerous as to collapse when a person was going over it but nothing still has been done. Everyone at the council sitting on their hands instead if getting down to doing their jobs. They gave money to put on festivals in adjacent council owned forestry to fncoursgd people into the countryside but not to fix 2 stiles that stop people getting into the forestry and try and keep fit. They are a SHAMBLES.
