Hedge and Grass needing (regular) maintenance
Reported in the Grass category anonymously at 09:21, Tue 9 October 2018 using FixMyStreet Pro
Sent to Oxfordshire County Council 4 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1432911.
I have queried the piece of land behind the three houses 2,4 and 6 Fircroft, that lies between the back of our houses and Hornbeam Road, I have had an email back from Tim Green, Landscape Officer at OCC to advise that 1.5 meters beyond our boundary wall belongs to each household, but beyond that up to Hornbeam Road has been adopted by OCC. Each household currently has to maintain this 'dead mans land' as no-one else does it, therefore can you ensure that it is added to your regular schedule, the grass and hedges in question need very regular maintenance, in the summer months, almost monthly as the hedge and undergrowth is very fast growing. Alternatively, please can you have all the land added to each house's deeds so that we can maintain as we like individually. I can provide the email from Tim Green is required but can't seem to see how to attach an email, only a photo.

This report is not the responsibility of Oxfordshire County Council as we only maintain the footway up to the hedge line. It may be possible that this area is still registered to the developer and you can find this information by doling an online Land registry search which will give you definitive plans and proprietor information. sorry I cant be more help. regards.

Sorry, this matter is not closed. I had an email from Tim Green, Landscape Officer for Cherwell DC (his phone number is 01295 221710 ext 1710) on the 5th October, telling me I only own 1.5 meters of the land in question from my boundary wall, the remainder is registered to the developer but has been adopted by Oxfordshire County Council, can you please communicate directly with Tim Green about this, I am sick and tire of being fobbed off between various types of council all denying responsibility. I want this resolved and am not maintaining this land again next summer. Please provide a definitive answer.

I still haven’t had an update on this I have an email from tim green from cdc telling me this land is adopted and the responsibility of occ. Please provide another update accordingly, it is complete nonsense to suggest the developer from approx 30 years ago is going to come back to maintain the grass and hedges

It would be rather quite courteous if someone would reply to my many requests about this, this issue is simply being ignored
