Blocked pathway for the public

Reported in the Flytipping category anonymously at 18:27, Sun 16 September 2018

Sent to Stockport Borough Council 3 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1414208.

The free space/pathway running from Ringmore road to Thurlestone Drive has now been blocked by a fence panel. I’ve complained to the council numerous times and asked why it would seem a member of the public has been allowed to put an obstruction at the end of the path. The council have not explained or answered. The path used to be Greenland but you were able to walk down it to the little bridge on Thurlestone Drive. The area was kept cut back by the council and many people used to walk down and use it. Due to the fence panel now being placed there, the area has become some what of a dumping ground and an overgrown mess. Members of the public can no longer get through. The fence panel has been placed there since about March of this year (2018). It is not a council fence so I am unsure as to why it is even there in the first place, especially as it’s blocking a public area.

Updates

  • The issue still hasn’t been fixed. The pathway is still blocked and waste is beginning to build along the side too.
