Water coming up from underground.

Sent to Bolton Borough Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1403322.
In Leyton Close, Farnworth water is coming up from underground on both sides of the street. It is causing subsidence and the road surface to break up. (The road surface has had to be repaired a couple of times.) Also algae is growing which may be dangerous to children and animals. This has been getting worse over the years and even during the dry spell this year it did not dry out. United utilities have checked for leaks and say it is not from their water mains. I suspect it may be coming from old mine workings. One of the Duke of Bridgewater's underground canals runs along the line of nearby Plodder Lane. I am worried about subsoil erosion and subsidence resulting in a collapse of the road, damage to properties and possible sinkholes, as well as the dangers to health due to the algae.

Still not fixed. Bolton Council are not interested and say they have no money! The Coal Authority sent a guy to look, and they reported that the water was unlikely to be coming from underground mine workings. Just waiting now for the whole street to disappear down a sink hole then I can say, "I told you so".
