Light always on.

Reported in the Street lighting category anonymously at 11:11, Sun 24 October 2010

Sent to Hertfordshire County Council 4 minutes later

The lamp post at this point appears to be permantly on.
Probably because it is being engulfed by the very high conifer hedge behind it which is making its sensor believe it is always night time.

  • This street light is still permanently on, but it is understood Herts Highways Local Area Team will be attending to this. We await a successful outcome.

  • The following report was received from the Hertfordshire Highways on 9th Dec 2010.
"The problem is lamp post no 19 Hailey Lane junc with Springle lane is on during the day because the residents conifers are covering the night/day sensor
This will involve the conifers to be cut back quite severley by the owners
Area office will contact the resident to deal with this"

But as at today 23rd Dec 2010, the problem remains unchanged. I wonder how much this is costing us taxpayers in wasted electricity?
