Signage for RESIDENTS ONLY has been removed. Member of public reporting people coming into Cul-de-Sac to reverse and sometimes park also. On advising people not to do you people are aggressive causing a mayhem and problems.

This sign was removed by Oxfordshire County Council because it was not authorised for use on the Public Highway and was probably put up by mistake by whichever authority was responsible at the time
Although there are others in the area, these are generally on private land and refer to off highway parking.

This sign has been there for years, which we believe gives us an acquired right to keep it; this is not a public road but a driveway that serves 6 private houses only; it is a cul de sac so it does not lead anywhere. We continue to have mayhem caused by coop customers that use our parking spots, making it difficult for residents to get home. Worse, many come in to turn around and in the process this week for the third time (3) a car hit and structurally damaged our fencing wall and then took off, leaving us with the problem. We want the sign back and/or as proposed earlier by you, that the area be converted in assigned parking spaces for the residents.Worst of all, when the place is packed with aliens, shall there be an emergency (fire, ambulance) it would be impossible for emergency vehicles to get in. If this happens, we will hold you responsible as you have been repeatedly warned of the problem. Please help.

Thank you for your response. However, I understand that the County Council records show that this close is Highway Maintainable at Public Expense, consequently we are bound by law to adhere to Department for Transport Regulations regarding signing.
The fact that one of these signs may have been there for some years does not change the fact that it is illegal or give it any squired right to be there.
I would also add that a sign prohibiting parking would not prevent vehicles from using the road as a convenient turning area.
For information on the County Councils Programme for introducing residents' permit parking schemes please visit
Https://www2.oxfordshire.gov.uk/cms/content/controlled-parking-zones-cpzs. I believe that this area may fall into one of their Priority 2 Zones
