No public access Rownhams to Chilworth

Hi. I've been told by Forestry Commission (who lease this land) that the land between Rownhams Lane and Chilworth Manor (known as Rownhams Wood) is now closed to public access. Understand this is private land but i have used these woods for dog walks, running, access to work for many years (some people i have spoken to for over 30 years) and feel that their should be access for walks and access through to Chilworth. Can they stop access? Can we apply for public right of way? Thank you.
