Obscured 40 speed signs on Fontwell Avenue near nursing home
Reported in the Road traffic signs category anonymously at 21:08, Mon 13 August 2018
Sent to West Sussex County Council 2 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1387285.
The two 40 speed limit signs are obscured by trees and are not visable as you drive down Fontwell Avenue, from the roundabout towards Eastergate. Consequently cars are exceeding the 40 mph speed limit down the straight towards Eastergate. I have reported this on 4 June, but no action has been taken.

Update as of 11 September ‘18. After phoning West Sussex Highways, they are waiting 20 days to contact the owner of the trees that are fully obscuring the two 40 mph speed signs. I suggested that they also cleaned the two signs, as they are have gone green!

Update as of 6 November, still no action as to cutting down the branches obscuring the two 40mph speed signs!! How difficult is it??? One of the council’s comments to me was, ‘Well it won’t make any difference to the speed the traffic goes down the road.’ My response to that was, ‘At least they would have some idea that they are meant to be doing 40mph, instead of the 60mph some are careering along at!’
