Nazi Graffiti on Rev. Wilbert Awdry Bridge

Reported in the Graffiti on bridges/subways category anonymously at 17:35, Fri 10 August 2018

Sent to Hampshire County Council 5 minutes later. FixMyStreet ref: 1385185.

Near the centre of the bridge, inside. Bridge has a lot of graffiti, but this particular piece has a swastika, and the Nazi 1488 dogwhistle. Other graffiti may also be fascist symbols, but I don't recognize them.

  • Still there. If you can't deal with literal hate speech, what CAN you deal with?

  • It is clear at this point that, in the eyes of the possibly-literally-fascist scumbags who put this here that they can claim this as their territory, and the council will do nothing. Frankly, this is shameful at this point.

  • Disgraceful.

  • Graffiti has been painted over, along with several poppies being attached to the bridge. Only the nazi-related images were covered. Think it was a third party rather than the people who should have dealt with the problem.
