More sinkage, sink-hole next?

Reported in the Roads/highways category anonymously at 16:39, Mon 6 August 2018

Updates

  • So HCC has spread yet more bitumen road surfacing mixture into the sink to reduce the 'step' in the roads surface. No evidence of subsidence investigation or support work either side of the road, so further sinking to come? The heavy weight air suspension PSV's using the road, along with the woman in the large HGV based horsebox (~18 tonnes), again with air suspension, pounding the slightest defect in a roadway with 7.5 T weight limit (she also crosses the similarly weight restricted Funtley railway bridge on a regular basis) continue to do further damage don't help.

  • Yet more tarmac was needed, following the fractured gas main, how long before the whole lot slides into the gardens either side of the road? The woman who regularly drives her 18 Ton (11.5 T overweight) luxury horsebox, along there as a shortcut, rather than taking the correct LGV route isn't helping matters.

  • Some more white paint, looks like yet another surface fill and hope job is planned, not dealing with the underlying subsidence that's causing the problem.
