Road repairs using small stones chipped my wind screen

On York Road between the fire station and the roundabout has been getting road repairs, I use the road twice a day for work. Today while driving home a car on the right hand lane had ignored the 20mph road limit and sped past me in the left hand lane, the small stones flicked up that they are using for the repairs and made a pretty big chip in my front window which is very concerning.
