Pedestrian Crossing & traffic lights Button Not Working!

Sent to Bedford Borough Council 3 minutes later

July 31st midday. Post office side of the road, A603, Bedford Road in Willington. Pedestrian Crossing and traffic lights, It would appear the Button to request a crossing was not working. I waited for several minutes. the lights never went to red.

  • It's clearly an ongoing problem perhaps associated with the timers involved in switch the crossing lights over to Pedestrian... If they timer is too slow, a pedestrian will press the button, get bored waiting, carry on walking and cross the road when there is a gap in the traffic, then, several minutes later, the lights change to RED, the traffic is held up, but there is NO ONE at the crossing!! So make it work quickly, to avoid this! (or take the thing away as it's not very helpful!!)
