Constant traffic queues can be solved with change in junction priorities

Reported in the Roads/highways category by Dr Peter Newman at 10:33, Wed 1 August 2018

Sent to East Sussex County Council 2 minutes later

The daily traffic queues at the junctions at either end of Junction Road, with the A21/Sedlescombe Road N and with The Ridge W occur because of vehicles waiting to turn right onto Junction Road, from the southbound A21 or from The Ridge eastbound. The queues on The Ridge often tail back past the roundabout for Queensway/B2902 and are bad enough that any time gained from using the new Bexhill Bypass is entirely lost.

These queues would be largely eliminated if the current T-junctions were simply changed to mini-roundabouts.

The queues are not only a daily annoyance to drivers but I suspect they also significantly increase the air and noise polution nearby.

I urge the council to act on this or to pass it to the Highways Agency for action.

Thanks for your attention.
